The Musical Arts Series Port Clinton Announces Resumption of Concerts

Lori Lefevre

We will host our second, special, outdoor concert featuring vocalist Lori Lefevre performing with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra Jazz Trio at 7:00PM on Wednesday evening, July 21st on the "Meals on Madison (M.O.M.) " stage located on Madison Street in Port Clinton, Ohio. (rain date is July 28th)

A well-known jazz singer in the Toledo, Ann Arbor, Detroit region, Lori Lefevre began her career touring as a musical theatre performer and pop singer. Her many experiences in both theatre and music have given Lori the opportunity to travel the United States and Europe. Lori calls Toledo home and has been singing jazz in the Midwest for the last four decades with some of the finest musicians anywhere. In addition to performing regularly at regional jazz venues like Rusty's Jazz Cafe, Murphy's Place, Degage Jazz Cafe in Toledo, and The Bird of Paradise in Ann Arbor, Lori has been the featured vocalist with the Toledo Jazz Orchestra.
Her own vocal jazz group, 6th Edition, was born from that experience and performs regularly in Southeast Michigan and Northwest Ohio. Lori has had the pleasure of teaching jazz vocal studies at The University of Toledo, Toledo School for the Arts, and Hillsdale College.

The Toledo Symphony Jazz Trio is one of the Toledo Symphony’s five small ensembles. This group was started in 1980 and its members are John Cleveland-piano, Norman Damschroder-bass and Keith McWatters-drums. This ensemble offers concerts, educational programs, background music and accompaniment for vocalists.

This family-friendly concert is sponsored by the Musical Arts Series - Port Clinton.

The Musical Arts Series - Port Clinton will resume the regular 2021/2022 concert season with the first concert on Saturday, September 11, 2021 @ 3:30 pm (rain date is September 18th @ 3:30pm).

Harmonia will perform at the outdoor Steele Memorial Band Stand at Lakeside Chautauqua.

The Musical Arts Series/Port Clinton steering committee continues to closely monitor the COVID-19 virus recommendations of the CDC, the Ohio Department of Health, and the Ottawa County Health Department.

We hope that with the continued vaccination availability to everyone over 12 years of age in Ohio, the continued use of masks, and social distancing that we can begin indoor concerts in larger venues beginning October 31, 2021. This will be dependent on whether the recent surge in COVID-19 cases in Ottawa County and nationwide can be contained.

We have made arrangements with the Port Clinton School System to use the High School Performing Arts Center for our indoor concerts this coming fall (2021) and winter (2022) season. The large, Performing Arts Center will allow us to accommodate up to 150 attendees with adequate social distancing to provide a safe performance environment.
We also plan to have our December performance at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church which is a large indoor venue capable of accommodating up to 150 attendees with adequate social distancing.

We will observe all current pandemic health recommendations and regulations in effect at the time of each concert.

We have presented concerts for 18 years without a glitch, until now. The pandemic has severely impacted the entire performing arts community so, sadly, we are not alone.

Please check this website or our Facebook page frequently for the latest information about our concerts in 2021 and 2022.

We greatly appreciate the ongoing financial support of our sponsors and season ticket holders.

Tickets that were purchased for a 2019-2020 concert will be honored for any rescheduled concert in 2021-2022.

We look forward to seeing you at our next concert on September 11, 2021 at Lakeside Chautauqua.
