2019 - 2020 Concert Season

Musical Arts Series Port Clinton COVID-19 announcement
updated October 20, 2020

The Musical Arts Series/Port Clinton steering committee has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 virus recommendations of the CDC, the Ohio Department of Health, and the Ottawa County Health Department.

We had hoped that the pandemic would have subsided enough for the Musical Arts Series to hold indoor performances this fall and winter, but unfortunately, there has been a recent surge in COVID-19 cases in Ottawa County and nationwide.

Many of the artists from around the country and Europe who were scheduled to perform this season are unable to travel to Port Clinton.

Based on the advice of public officials, we do not believe that the Musical Arts Series can provide a safe indoor concert experience for our patrons this year.

The Musical Arts Series/Port Clinton steering committee has made the difficult decision to postpone the entire 2020/2021 series of performances, including the annual Burning River Brass Christmas concert, until the 2021/2022 concert season.

We have presented concerts for 18 years without a glitch, until now. The pandemic has severely impacted the entire performing arts community so, sadly, we are not alone. The decision of our steering committee was unanimous, based upon concerts already cancelled and the prognosis for the future of the virus. We are hopeful that by the summer of 2021, the pandemic will have subsided to the point where we can offer outdoor concerts at Lakeside or other outdoor venues.

At this time, we are planning to attempt to get our concert season back to normal in the fall of 2021. These decisions were made following the guidelines for social distancing, based on the demographics of our patrons, the close personal contact of our performance venue, and the recommendations of local medical advisors.

We will continue to closely monitor the status of the COVID-19 pandemic to make future decisions on when and where to safely hold our rescheduled 2020-2021 concerts.

Please check this website or our Facebook page frequently for the latest information about our concerts in 2021.

We greatly appreciate the ongoing financial support of our sponsors and season ticket holders.

Tickets that were purchased for a 2019-2020 concert will be honored for the rescheduled concert in 2021-2022.

Until then, please remain safe and healthy.

Sincerely,
The Musical Arts Series/Port Clinton Steering Committee
